Canalescuola Coop. Soc. onlus was founded on February 2, 2006, in Bolzano, driven by a working group focused on technology and its educational applications. Formed through community projects, school activities, and academic collaboration—particularly with the educational technology research group at the Faculty of Education of the Free University of Bolzano.

The Cooperative's Vision: Students, researchers, and teachers emphasized the need for a critical and conscious use of technologies in education from the early years of school, integrating digital tools into teaching practices and fostering critical thinking.

Canalescuola operates nationwide, establishing offices and laboratories across Trentino-South Tyrol, Veneto, Lombardy, Piedmont, Liguria, Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, Lazio, Molise, Puglia, Calabria, and Sardinia.

Project Presentation

- Learning Italian L2 and scientific disciplines aimed at passing the "Filter Semester" for admission to Medicine, Surgery, Dentistry, and Veterinary faculties (for non-EU non-resident students) - 700 hours.

- Learning Italian L2 and scientific disciplines aimed at preparing for the TOLC admission test for other faculties (Engineering, Architecture, Pharmacy, Psychology, STEM) - 600 hours.

THE INTERCULTURAL PROJECT FOR THE ITALIAN UNIVERSITY: This training course is dedicated to non-EU non-resident students preparing for university admission tests and enrollment in Italy. It features an inter- and transcultural focus (peer exchange, mutual influence, and support) combined with strong didactic innovation based on Canalescuola's extensive research and experience.

Teaching Italian, logic, chemistry, and biology becomes an opportunity for meaningful cultural encounter.

- Cross-cutting fields: intercultural education, teaching methodologies, digital and didactic innovation

Program & Structure

The COMPLETE COURSE, lasting 700 HOURS (January–December 2027), consists of two complementary modules:
• Italian Module – 450 hours: Italian L2 learning from level A1 to B2 + Scientific micro-language workshop
• Scientific Subjects Module – 250 hours: scientific preparation for the filter semester (Medicine/Surgery/Dentistry/Veterinary)

The 600-HOUR COURSE (January–July 2027) consists of:
• Italian Module – 450 hours: Italian L2 learning (A1-B2) + Scientific micro-language workshop
• Logical-Scientific Subjects Module – 150 hours: TOLC admission test preparation for technical-scientific faculties

- Italian L2 Language (400 hours): levels A1-B2 according to the CEFR framework, written/oral comprehension, oral production, grammar, and specialized vocabulary.
- Scientific Micro-Language Didactic Workshop (50 hours): technological and cooperative laboratory focused on chemical-physical-biological sectoral language.

Advanced preparation and small-group tutoring leading up to the exams:
• Biology (75 hours)
• Chemistry and Biochemical Propedeutics (75 hours)
• Physics (75 hours)
• Exam Simulations (25 hours)

The course schedule ensures that students obtain an Italian L2 language certification before July 2027, which is mandatory for enrollment in the Filter Semester or via the Universitaly portal.

Costs

- Complete 700-Hour Course: Italian + scientific subjects + filter semester exam simulations: €6500

- 600-Hour Course Option: Italian + logical-scientific subjects for TOLC test preparation: €6000

The course will be activated upon reaching a class of at least 12 participants.

Scientific Direction & Supervision - Dr. Emil Girardi: Pedagogue, teacher, co-founder, and president of Canalescuola.
- Prof. Raffaele Cariati: Didactic coordinator of the project, Chemistry and Physics teacher, head of Canalescuola LAB Rome, expert in digital inclusive teaching.

Intercultural Mediation An intercultural mediator will support the teaching staff in handling inquiries, assisting with enrollments, guiding students through extra-didactic activities, and coordinating with Italian Embassies abroad.
